Sandisk Frees up your drive space with Ultra USB Type-C flash drives

We all need extra memory either for taking that import presentation with you to a meeting or giving a friend a copy of a cool video you found on the internet. Well today SanDisk has announced a line of flash drives that will help you do that and more.

The new SanDisk Ultra USB Type-C Flash Drive are exactly as the name says; portable flash drives that use the new USB type-C connector. While there are motherboards hitting the market with either the port built into the rear I/O or getting refreshes and having the card bundled as an expansion card, there aren’t many devices that are using the new standard. SanDisk is hoping to capitalize on a serge of new products coming to market that will have the new port.

While trying to future-proof the Ultra drives, SanDisk has all of the drives dual drives. That means that at the opposite end from the Type-C connector there is a ubiquitous USB  Type A connector.  Regardless of which side being used, the Ultra drives will use the USB 3.1 standard and have a speed of up to 150MB/s. Having a drive that can work with nearly all of our devices is a blessing. Granted that we don’t lose it.

The SanDisk Ultra Type-C drives come in 16GB, 32GB, 64GB, and 128GB capacities with MSRPs of $19.99, $29.99, $49.99, and $79.99 respectively.
